In this all-grain brewing class we'll show you how to make this historic North American ale.

This beer was developed in the second half of the 1800s to compete with Canadian and US lagers. It is similar to a Standard American Lager, but has more character. Overall it is a clean, well-attenuated, highly carbonated, flavourful American “lawnmower” beer. Easily drinkable, smooth, and refreshing.

It is made with 6-Row malt along with some 2-Row pale malt and can have up to 20% Maize in the mash. It is lightly hopped with varieties that impart floral, spicy or herbal flavours.

IBU 8 – 20, ABV 4.2 – 5.6%
